Imposing remains of one of England's largest medieval castles set on a high rock above the River Tees. There is a sensory garden of scented plants and tactile objects.

Dogs welcome on a lead.

Opening:
Open daily from 10am-6pm from 1st April-30th September. Closes at 4pm in winter and does not open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 2nd November-31st March. Closed 24th-26th December and 1st January.

Parking:
Toilets are located in the town car park.
