Impressive ruins of a castle that once formed the backdrop to the famous jousting scenes in Sir Walter Scott's classic novel, Ivanhoe. Visitors can climb the 24 metre Hastings tower, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. An audio guide describes the history of the castle.

150 acre site that was once a disused opencast colliery and is now part of The National Forest. The park contains woodland, lakes, grassland and a wildflower meadow.

Small family run garden centre and ski shop. There is also a popular Alpine restaurant that serves delicious meals and cakes. One of Rover's favourite places to visit for Sunday lunch!

840 acre country park with herds of deer, the birthplace of Lady Jane Grey and Old John Tower folly. Bradgate Park has three entrances. The main entrance is in Newtown Linford. Also Cropston (Hallgates) and Old John (Hunts Hill).
Dogs are very welcome as long as they are kept under control. Dogs that chase deer may be shot. There is an outside seating area next to the tearoom which is very popular with dog owners.

140 hectare country park with 12 lakes and smaller ponds. The largest area of water is King Lear's Lake, which is an excellent day ticket coarse fishing venue. Most of the paths are level and surfaced making it ideal for those with wheelchairs or pushchairs.
