The Peacock at Rowsley is a small luxury hotel in the Peak District, owned by Lord Edward Manners of Haddon Hall. The hotel owns fishing rights and is famous for its seven miles of fly fishing on the Rivers Wye and Derwent, where anglers fish for rare wild rainbow trout and a unique strain of brown trout. The hotel has been refurbished in a contemporary style, but still retains many historic features, antique furniture and paintings. Most of the double rooms have king size or superking size beds, including one four-poster and another antique bed originally from Belvoir Castle.
Dogs are very welcome to stay in bedrooms and are allowed to be left unattended. There are no restrictions on the number or type of dogs allowed to stay. Dogs may not accompany owners at meals as they are not allowed in the lounge, bar or restaurant. There is a garden available for dog toileting. It is an ideal location for countryside walks and there is a recreation ground across the road from the hotel down a lane.
